There are currently 3 different types of wireless charging technology available.
1) Magnetic Induction
2) Resonant Based
3) Radio Frequency
Applications
Currently there are 2 approved standards available on the market - Qi and PMA. The third unapproved A4WP standard remains as such due to emission issues. Companies utilise the aforementioned approved standards in their wireless charging devices.
Limitations
However, there are still limitations, misconceptions and uncertainties on the prolonged usage of wireless charging.
